I grew up in the mountain desert of southwest Wyoming with a library right out my back gate. I can still walk into that library today and feel totally at home.
Today I live in central California, where the miles and miles of orchards and farmland never seem to end, the summers are excruciatingly hot, and the winters are foggy and green.
I never thought I was a writer growing up. The need to write never tugged at me much except for the occasional obligatory angsty poem. But one night the words Β to a picture were running through my head and wouldn’t let me sleep until I wrote them down. So I did.
Insomnia’s never been so life changing. π
Now I write middle grade novels and picture books and am represented by Elizabeth Harding of Curtis Brown LTD.
In addition to writing, I enjoy playing the piano, knitting, reading, playing board games with my husband and five kids, and snuggling my very roly-poly bulldog.
